ConstructPC is built around honest advice, careful workmanship and practical recommendations.
The aim is not to push the most expensive option. It is to understand what you need, explain the options clearly, and recommend a system, upgrade or service that makes sense for your budget and intended use.
Every custom build is handled independently, not mass-produced, and services are approached with the same mindset: clear communication, no unnecessary upselling and no confusing jargon.
-
No. Gaming PCs are one option, but custom desktops can also be built for work, study, content creation, streaming, editing, development, everyday use or a mix of needs.
The specification depends on what you actually want the system to do.
-
Yes, but within clear limits.
ConstructPC offers selected laptop maintenance, diagnostics, software support and modular upgrade work where suitable. This can include RAM upgrades, SSD/storage upgrades, battery replacement, thermal maintenance and, where parts are available and the design allows it, screen or full display assembly replacement.
We do not offer board-level laptop repair, micro-soldering, liquid-damage reconstruction, CPU/GPU rework, trace repair or complex electronic repair.
If your laptop needs work outside our current scope, we’ll explain this clearly.
-
Services may include desktop diagnostics, component replacement, storage upgrades, graphics card upgrades, power supply replacement, cooling improvements, case swaps, Windows troubleshooting, driver checks, BIOS/firmware guidance and general system health checks.
Laptop work is limited to suitable modular parts and maintenance.
Highly specialised electronic repairs, such as micro-soldering, board-level repair, trace repair or liquid-damage reconstruction, are not currently offered.
-
Yes. If you already have a desktop PC, ConstructPC can assess whether it is worth upgrading and suggest practical improvements.
This may include graphics cards, storage, memory, cooling, power supply, case changes, software refresh work or general performance improvements depending on the system.
If the machine is not worth upgrading, we’ll say so clearly.

Local handover, collection or delivery may be available where practical. Some shop items may be available for UK-wide courier delivery where they can be safely packaged and shipped.
Larger or fragile custom systems may be limited to local collection, handover or agreed delivery.
-
Where practical, local custom builds may be hand delivered by ConstructPC.
For suitable shop items, courier delivery may be used. Larger or fragile systems, especially those with glass panels or heavy internal components, may be limited to local delivery or collection depending on packaging and risk.
-
Yes. The shop may include selected refurbished, pre-owned or tested tech such as desktops, laptops, components, accessories, consoles or peripherals.
Availability will vary depending on stock. Each listing will clearly state the item condition, what is included, and any applicable warranty or returns information.
-
Custom PC builds and bespoke upgrades or repairs are quoted individually based on the agreed specification, parts required, labour, setup requirements and any collection, handover or delivery arrangements.
Ready-To-Go Services are fixed-price workshop packages:
System MOT & Deep Clean — £40
Fault Diagnostics & Software Refresh — £40
Ultimate Refresh Bundle — £60
The Ultimate Refresh Bundle combines the two £40 services in one workshop visit. Bought separately, they would be £80. Bundle price: £60.
No parts are ordered and no bespoke work begins until the scope, quote and payment terms have been agreed.
-
For online shop items and Ready-To-Go Services, payment is usually taken at checkout.
For custom builds, upgrades and repairs, payment terms are confirmed before any order is accepted. This may include payment for parts, labour, agreed deposits, bank transfer, invoice payment or online payment routes depending on the job.
Available payment options may include major cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Klarna, PayPal Pay in 3, PayPal Credit or bank transfer where shown or agreed. Finance and payment options are subject to provider availability, eligibility, status, approval and their own terms.
-
Customer-supplied parts may be accepted by agreement.
ConstructPC cannot guarantee the condition, compatibility, authenticity or warranty status of customer-supplied parts. If a supplied part is faulty, unsuitable or causes issues, this may affect timescales, cost and support options.
Where customer-supplied parts are used, workmanship support applies only to the work ConstructPC carries out. It does not create a warranty for the customer-supplied part itself.
-
Every new ConstructPC custom desktop includes 3-Year ConstructPC Build Support.
For the first 12 months, this includes a workmanship guarantee for issues caused by the original assembly or installation work. Throughout the three-year support period, ConstructPC can also help diagnose issues with the supplied build and support applicable manufacturer warranty claims for components supplied as part of your system.
Upgrade, repair and Ready-To-Go maintenance services include a 90-day workmanship guarantee for the specific work completed.
This does not replace your statutory rights or any applicable manufacturer warranty.
-
If something is not right, contact ConstructPC as soon as possible with your order or reference number, a clear description of the issue, and any useful photos, screenshots or videos.
We’ll review the issue and explain the next step. Depending on the situation, this may involve troubleshooting, inspection, repeat performance, manufacturer warranty support, repair, replacement, refund or another appropriate outcome.
Complaints and support issues are handled in line with our Complaints Policy, Terms & Conditions, Returns & Warranty Policy and your statutory rights.

Initial enquiries and general guidance are free.
For custom builds, upgrades and repairs, we can discuss your needs, budget and intended use before providing a quote. More detailed planning, parts sourcing, diagnostics or formal proposals may require an agreed payment before work begins.
Any payment terms will be made clear before you commit.
-
For custom PC builds, parts will usually be brand new unless otherwise agreed with you in advance.
If a build uses any customer-supplied, pre-owned, refurbished or open-box components by agreement, this will be made clear before the build goes ahead.
For shop items, the condition will be stated on the product listing. Items may be new, pre-owned, refurbished, tested, or sold as spares/repairs where clearly described.
-
For custom PC builds, Windows can be installed and set up if agreed as part of the build.
A genuine Windows licence can be included in the quote where required, or you can provide your own valid licence. If you prefer to install your own operating system, the PC can be supplied without Windows installed.
Alternative operating systems may be considered by request where practical.
For shop items, the operating system status will be stated in the product listing.
-
Yes, where agreed.
For custom builds, setup options can include Windows installation, driver updates, basic software installation, monitor setup, keyboard and mouse setup, and general first-use guidance.
Additional peripherals such as monitors, keyboards, mice, headsets or speakers can be discussed as part of the quote where required.
-
Yes. If preferred, a custom PC can be supplied without an operating system installed.
This may suit customers who already have their own licence, plan to install Windows themselves, or want to use another operating system.
-
If you need to change or cancel an order, contact ConstructPC as soon as possible.
If no parts have been ordered and no work has started, we will normally cancel or amend the order without issue.
Once parts have been ordered, build work has started, or a custom specification has been agreed and actioned, cancellation or changes may be limited. We may need to deduct reasonable unrecoverable costs, such as special-order parts, supplier restocking fees, delivery costs, payment processing costs where non-refundable, or labour already carried out.
This does not affect your statutory rights if goods are faulty, misdescribed or not fit for purpose, or if services are not carried out with reasonable care and skill.
-
Choose a Fast-Track Tier if you want a simple starting point based on budget, performance level and intended use. We’ll still review your needs and shape the final specification before anything is ordered.
Choose the Bespoke Route if you have a specific parts list, aesthetic preference, specialist workload, software requirement or more detailed build idea.
Both routes are checked before quoting. The difference is simply how much detail you want to provide at the start.
-
The Fault Diagnostics & Software Refresh service is a fixed-price Ready-To-Go Service for slow, unstable or error-prone desktops and selected laptops.
It includes Windows health checks, startup and performance review, driver checks, software troubleshooting, BIOS/firmware guidance where appropriate, and clear next-step advice.
If bespoke hardware repair, parts replacement or upgrade work is required after testing, that work will be quoted separately before anything further goes ahead.
If the diagnostic confirms that the required repair is outside ConstructPC’s current scope, such as board-level repair or micro-soldering, we will explain this clearly and may waive or refund the diagnostic fee in line with our service terms.
-
Yes. Customers should back up important files, photos, documents, software licences, recovery keys, passwords and settings before submitting any device for diagnostics, cleaning, upgrade, repair or software work.
ConstructPC will take reasonable care when handling your device, but data preservation is not guaranteed unless a separate backup, clone or data-transfer service is expressly agreed in writing before work begins.
-
Each Ready-To-Go Service booking covers one device.
If you need more than one desktop or laptop serviced, please place a separate booking for each device or contact ConstructPC before booking so we can advise the best route.
-
No. Visits, drop-offs, collections and handovers are by prior arrangement only.
Please contact ConstructPC or complete the relevant booking/enquiry route before bringing any device or system to us.
