TERMS AND CONDITIONS
ConstructPC Ltd
Last updated: 01/07/2026
1. INTRODUCTION
These Terms and Conditions explain the basis on which ConstructPC Ltd ("ConstructPC", "we", "us" and "our") supplies goods and services to customers ("you" and "your").
They apply when you place an order, buy from our online shop, book a Ready-To-Go Service, approve a quotation, submit a device or component for work, or otherwise ask us to provide goods or services.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law. In particular, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, and services must be performed with reasonable care and skill.

3. DEFINITIONS
In these Terms:
"Custom Build" means a desktop PC, workstation or computing system built, assembled, configured or supplied to an agreed bespoke specification.
"Standard Goods" means standard shop goods sold from stock which have not been custom-built, personalised, modified or supplied to an agreed bespoke specification.
"Refurbished Goods" means used, pre-owned, refurbished, repaired, tested, cleaned or prepared goods sold through our shop and clearly described as such.
"Ready-To-Go Services" means our fixed-price workshop service products purchased through our online shop, including System MOT & Deep Clean, Fault Diagnostics & Software Refresh and the Ultimate Refresh Bundle.
"Services" means diagnostics, maintenance, cleaning, thermal paste replacement, software support, operating system support, upgrade work, repair work, assembly, testing, configuration or other technical work carried out by ConstructPC.
"Quotation" means a written estimate, quote, proposal or agreed specification issued by ConstructPC for a custom build, upgrade, repair or other bespoke work.
"Customer-Supplied Parts" means parts, components, software, accessories or devices supplied by you rather than by ConstructPC.
4. BUSINESS MODEL AND SERVICE SCOPE
ConstructPC provides custom desktop PC builds, desktop upgrades, selected laptop maintenance and modular upgrade work, fixed-price Ready-To-Go Services, diagnostics, repairs, carefully sourced shop items, refurbished or pre-owned technology and selected components or accessories.
ConstructPC is based in Northwich, Cheshire and focuses on customers across the North West. Local collection, handover, drop-off or agreed delivery may be arranged where practical. Selected shop items may be offered for UK delivery where stated.
Our main hardware focus is desktop PCs. We also offer selected laptop maintenance, diagnostics, software support and modular upgrade or replacement work where suitable. Laptop work may include RAM, SSD/storage, batteries, thermal maintenance and, where parts are available and the device design allows it, screen or full display assembly replacement.
We do not currently offer board-level repair, micro-soldering, CPU/GPU reballing, trace repair, advanced liquid-damage reconstruction, complex electronic repair, console repair or handheld repair unless expressly agreed in writing.
Service suitability depends on the device type, model, condition, part availability, internal design and safe access.
5. ORDERS AND ACCEPTANCE
For online shop purchases and Ready-To-Go Services, your order is placed when you complete checkout. We may contact you after checkout to confirm suitability, arrange service handover, verify details or discuss any issue with the order.
For custom builds, upgrades, repairs and other bespoke work, a contract is formed only when we confirm acceptance of the agreed quotation or scope in writing, or when we begin work following your approval and agreed payment terms.
Submitting an enquiry or receiving a quotation does not require you to proceed. A contract is only formed once the relevant order, quote, invoice or checkout payment has been accepted.
We may refuse or cancel an order or enquiry before acceptance where, for example, parts are unavailable, pricing has materially changed, a requested service is outside our scope, the device is unsafe to work on, the requested work is not commercially sensible, payment fails, or there is an error in the listing or quote.
If we cancel an order before acceptance and you have already paid, we will refund the relevant payment unless a lawful deduction applies and has been explained to you.
6. QUOTATIONS AND ESTIMATES
Custom builds, upgrades, repairs and bespoke services are quoted individually.
A quotation is based on the information available at the time, including part availability, supplier pricing, compatibility and the work requested. Unless stated otherwise, quotations are valid only for the period shown on the quote.
No parts are ordered and no build, upgrade or repair work begins until the specification, scope, quotation and payment terms have been agreed.
If unexpected faults, incompatibilities, safety concerns or additional work are discovered after inspection, we will explain the issue and seek your approval before carrying out additional paid work.
7. CUSTOM BUILDS AND BESPOKE GOODS
Custom Builds are built to an agreed individual specification. This may include specific components, case choice, cooling, storage, performance requirements, aesthetics, software setup and other agreed preferences.
Where a Custom Build is made to your specification or clearly personalised, the usual 14-day distance cancellation right may not apply under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
If you ask to cancel before any components have been ordered and before any build work has started, we will normally cancel the order and refund payments made for the cancelled work.
Once components have been ordered, configuration has started or assembly has begun, cancellation or changes may not be possible, or may be subject to reasonable costs already incurred. This may include special-order parts, supplier restocking fees, non-refundable payment processing costs where applicable, collection or delivery costs already incurred, and labour already carried out.
Where parts can reasonably be returned to suppliers or reused without loss, we will take this into account when calculating any deduction.
This does not affect your statutory rights if the Custom Build is faulty, not as described, not fit for purpose, or not supplied with reasonable care and skill.
8. FAST-TRACK AND BESPOKE BUILD ROUTES
Fast-Track build tiers are guide starting points only. They are not fixed off-the-shelf systems unless confirmed in writing. Example specifications, guide ranges and component classes are indicative and may change depending on availability, value, compatibility, warranty coverage and your intended use.
The Bespoke Route is intended for customers who want a more tailored specification or have specific requirements.
In all cases, final components, pricing, payment terms and build scope will be confirmed before any parts are ordered or work begins.
9. PC BUILD PLANNING AND ADVICE
Where offered, PC build planning or technical advice is a separate advice service unless a full build contract is agreed.
Advice may include component recommendations, compatibility guidance, upgrade-path suggestions and budget planning. Unless agreed in writing, it does not include physical assembly, hardware procurement, software licensing, warranty handling or support for a self-built system.
Advice is provided with reasonable care and skill based on the information you provide and the information reasonably available at the time.
10. SHOP GOODS
Our online shop may include desktops, laptops, desktop components, laptop components, peripherals, accessories, consoles, refurbished or pre-owned items and selected service products.
Each listing should state the item condition, what is included, price, delivery or collection options and any applicable warranty or returns information.
Product availability may change. We may withdraw or amend a listing before accepting an order if the item is unavailable, incorrectly described, incorrectly priced or unsuitable for sale.
11. REFURBISHED, USED AND PRE-OWNED GOODS
Refurbished, used and pre-owned goods may show reasonable signs of previous use. Known cosmetic condition, missing accessories, battery condition or other limitations will be described where relevant.
Disclosed cosmetic marks, age-related wear or known limitations are not treated as faults simply because they were present at purchase and clearly described.
Refurbished and used goods remain subject to your statutory consumer rights.
12. READY-TO-GO SERVICES
Ready-To-Go Services are fixed-price workshop service products purchased through online checkout.
These services are designed for common maintenance and refresh work, such as physical cleaning, thermal maintenance, Windows health checks, diagnostics, startup review, driver checks, BIOS/firmware guidance where appropriate and general next-step advice.
Ready-To-Go Services do not include board-level repair, micro-soldering, liquid-damage reconstruction, non-modular laptop repairs or complex electronic repair.
A Ready-To-Go Service booking covers one device only unless otherwise agreed. We will contact you after checkout to arrange a suitable workshop slot, local handover, drop-off or agreed collection route.
If the device is not suitable for the purchased service, we will explain why before proceeding. Where appropriate, we may cancel or refund the service, or recommend a different route.
13. REPAIRS, DIAGNOSTICS AND UPGRADES
Repairs, diagnostics and upgrades may be provided as either Ready-To-Go Services or bespoke quoted work.
Desktop work may include component upgrades, part replacement, cooling improvements, case swaps, rebuilds, power supply replacement, graphics card upgrades, BIOS updates, storage upgrades and other suitable work.
Laptop work is limited to selected maintenance and modular work where suitable. This may include compatible RAM, SSD/storage, batteries, thermal maintenance and screen or display assembly replacement where parts are available and the design allows safe replacement.
Many modern laptops use soldered memory, soldered storage, glued assemblies, compact internal designs or non-serviceable parts. Where safe or viable work is not possible, we will explain this before proceeding.
14. OUT-OF-SCOPE DIAGNOSTIC REFUND
Where a paid diagnostic service only confirms that the required repair is outside our current scope, such as board-level repair, micro-soldering, liquid-damage reconstruction, CPU/GPU rework, trace repair or complex electronic repair, we will waive or refund the diagnostic fee.
This does not mean every fault can be fixed, and it does not apply where we have carried out the agreed diagnostic service and provided practical findings or next-step advice for a fault that is within the normal scope of diagnostics.
Delivery, collection or third-party transport costs already incurred may be treated separately where lawful and where explained to you.
15. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES
You must provide accurate information about your device, known faults, previous repairs, liquid exposure, physical damage, passwords, encryption, recovery keys, accessories and any other relevant details.
You are responsible for backing up important files, photos, documents, software licences, recovery keys, passwords, settings and other data before submitting any device or storage media for diagnostics, cleaning, upgrade, repair or software work.
You should not provide passwords, BitLocker keys or other sensitive credentials unless we specifically request them for agreed work. If credentials are provided, you should change them after the work is completed.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have valid software licences unless a licence is supplied by ConstructPC as a specific invoice line item.
16. DATA LOSS AND SOFTWARE RISK
ConstructPC will take reasonable care when handling your device, but data preservation is not guaranteed unless a separate backup, clone or data-transfer service is expressly agreed in writing before work begins.
Some diagnostics, Windows repairs, software refreshes, malware recovery, storage work, BIOS/firmware updates, driver changes or operating system work can carry a risk of data loss, profile corruption, software deactivation or settings changes.
We are not responsible for loss of data or software where you have not backed up your data, except where the law does not allow us to exclude or limit responsibility.
17. PRICING AND PAYMENT
All prices are stated in pounds sterling (£). Payment terms will be shown at checkout, on an invoice or in the written quotation.
Ready-To-Go Services and standard online shop purchases must usually be paid for at checkout.
Custom builds, upgrades, repairs and bespoke work may require full payment, a deposit or staged payment terms depending on the agreed scope. The agreed payment terms will be confirmed before work begins.
No parts are ordered and no build, upgrade or repair work begins until the quote and payment terms have been agreed and the required payment has cleared or been approved.
Where VAT is applicable, it will be shown at checkout or on the invoice.
18. PAYMENT PROVIDERS AND FINANCE OPTIONS
Available payment options may include major cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Klarna, PayPal Pay in 3, PayPal Credit or bank transfer, depending on the type of purchase and checkout route.
Klarna, PayPal Pay in 3 and PayPal Credit are subject to provider availability, eligibility, status, approval and the provider’s own terms. We cannot guarantee that any finance or instalment option will be offered or approved.
PayPal Credit may offer 0% interest for 4 months on eligible single transactions of £99 or more, unless another promotional offer applies. You should always check the provider’s terms before committing.
19. DEPOSITS
Where a deposit is required, we will explain what it covers and whether it is refundable before payment is taken.
A deposit may be non-refundable where it has been used to order non-returnable parts, reserve a build slot, begin bespoke planning or cover costs already incurred, subject to your statutory rights.
20. CANCELLATION FRAMEWORK BY PURCHASE TYPE
This section explains how cancellation normally works for different types of orders. It should be read alongside the statutory cancellation rights and exceptions in these Terms.
20.1 Enquiries and quotations
Submitting an enquiry or receiving a quotation does not require you to proceed. If you decide not to continue before accepting a quote or making payment, no cancellation fee applies.
20.2 Standard Goods
Eligible Standard Goods purchased online may be cancelled under the 14-day distance cancellation rules explained in Section 22.
20.3 Custom Builds
Custom Builds made to your specification or clearly personalised may be excluded from the 14-day distance cancellation right. If you cancel before parts are ordered and before work begins, we will normally refund payments made for the cancelled work. Once parts have been ordered or work has begun, cancellation may be subject to reasonable unrecoverable costs already incurred.
20.4 Upgrades and repairs
For bespoke upgrades, repairs and component replacement work, if you cancel before parts are ordered and before work begins, we will normally refund payments made for the cancelled work.
If parts have already been ordered for your agreed upgrade or repair, we may deduct reasonable costs we cannot recover, such as special-order parts, supplier restocking fees, delivery costs or non-refundable payment processing costs where applicable.
If labour, diagnostics or other service work has already started following your express request, we may charge a reasonable amount for work already carried out up to the point of cancellation.
20.5 Ready-To-Go Services
You may cancel or reschedule a Ready-To-Go Service before work begins. If no collection, travel, diagnostic, cleaning, software or other service work has started, we will normally refund the service fee in full.
If agreed collection, delivery or travel has already been carried out before cancellation, reasonable transport costs may be deducted where this has been explained to you.
If you have expressly asked us to begin within the 14-day cancellation period and work has already started, we may charge a reasonable amount for work already carried out. If the service has been fully completed following your express request to begin early, your right to cancel that service may be lost.
This does not affect your statutory rights if the service was not performed with reasonable care and skill.
21. STARTING SERVICES WITHIN THE 14-DAY CANCELLATION PERIOD
For services purchased online, agreed remotely or arranged outside our normal business premises, you may have a 14-day cancellation period.
If you want us to begin a service before the end of that period, we may ask for your express request and acknowledgement before work begins. This may be collected through checkout, an add-to-cart form, a quote approval, an email, a signed form or another durable method.
Where you expressly request that we begin work during the cancellation period and you later cancel after work has started, we may charge a reasonable amount for the work already carried out up to the point of cancellation.
If the service has been fully completed following your express request to begin early, your right to cancel that service may be lost.
This does not affect your statutory rights if the service was not performed with reasonable care and skill.
Suggested service-start wording used at checkout or approval stage:
"I expressly request ConstructPC Ltd to begin the service before the end of the 14-day cancellation period. I understand that if I cancel after work has started, I may be charged a reasonable amount for work already carried out, and if the service is fully completed, I may lose the right to cancel that service. This does not affect my statutory rights."
22. DISTANCE CANCELLATION RIGHTS FOR STANDARD GOODS
For eligible distance sales of Standard Goods, consumers generally have a 14-day cancellation period beginning the day after the goods are received.
To cancel, you must tell us clearly that you wish to cancel. You can contact support@constructpc.co.uk or use any cancellation request form we make available. You do not have to use a specific form as long as your cancellation request is clear.
You then have 14 days to return the goods after telling us you wish to cancel.
Returned Standard Goods should be complete, with accessories, manuals and packaging included where reasonably possible. If goods have been handled beyond what is necessary to inspect them, or are returned damaged, incomplete, configured, modified or with avoidable missing packaging, we may make a deduction from any refund where permitted by law.
Custom Builds, clearly personalised goods, unsealed software, digital content after valid consent where applicable, and services already fully performed after your express request may be excluded from the 14-day cancellation right.
23. CANCELLATION REQUESTS AND MODEL CANCELLATION INFORMATION
Where cancellation rights apply, you can cancel by emailing support@constructpc.co.uk with a clear statement that you wish to cancel.
If we provide a cancellation request form or cancellation page, you may use it, but you do not have to use it.
To help us process your request, please include your name, contact details, order or invoice number, the goods or service you wish to cancel, the order date and whether any goods have already been received, collected, handed over or worked on.
A simple cancellation statement is enough, for example:
"I hereby give notice that I wish to cancel my contract for the following goods or services: [insert details]. Ordered on: [date]. Name: [your name]. Address or contact details: [your details]."
24. RETURNS PROCESS
Before returning goods, please contact support@constructpc.co.uk so we can provide return instructions.
Unless the item is faulty or we are otherwise responsible, you are responsible for return postage, suitable packaging and the risk of return transit.
Please package items carefully. Computer systems, glass panels, heavy graphics cards and large tower coolers are particularly vulnerable in transit.
Refunds will normally be issued to the original payment method. Bank, card, PayPal, Klarna or other provider processing times may vary.
25. DELIVERY, COLLECTION AND HANDOVER
Delivery, collection and handover options may include courier delivery, agreed local handover, agreed local delivery, workshop collection, customer drop-off or ConstructPC collection by prior arrangement.
Workshop visits, handovers, collections and drop-offs are by prior arrangement only. Please do not bring or send a device to ConstructPC without prior agreement.
Delivery dates, collection times and workshop slots are estimates unless expressly confirmed.
For consumer sales, risk normally passes to you when the goods come into your physical possession, or the physical possession of a person identified by you to receive them.
For collection by you or your authorised representative, risk passes when the goods are collected by you or that authorised representative.
26. CONSTRUCTPC LOCAL COLLECTION, HAND DELIVERY AND TRANSPORT
Where ConstructPC agrees to collect, hand deliver or transport a customer device, custom build, component or shop item using our own vehicle, this will be arranged in advance.
We will take reasonable care of the item while it is in our custody and during transport by ConstructPC.
For customer-owned devices collected for service, risk transfers to ConstructPC when we physically take custody of the item, subject to any pre-existing faults, cosmetic condition, internal damage, data issues, missing items or accessories disclosed, visible or recorded at intake.
Risk transfers back to you when the item is handed back to you or your authorised recipient.
For goods supplied by ConstructPC, risk transfers to you when the goods are physically handed over to you or your authorised recipient, unless the law provides otherwise.
We may photograph or record the external condition, serial numbers, accessories, packaging and handover state of items for quality control, insurance, fraud prevention and dispute-resolution purposes.
You are responsible for providing accurate collection or delivery details, being available at the agreed time, and ensuring that the item is safe and accessible for handover. Unless agreed otherwise, you should remove loose accessories, personal items and unnecessary peripherals before collection.
27. COURIER DELIVERY AND CUSTOMER-ARRANGED CARRIERS
Courier delivery may be used for selected shop items and other goods where stated or agreed.
Courier delivery is carried out by third-party carriers. Delivery dates are estimates unless expressly guaranteed.
If you choose your own carrier or arrange your own courier without using a delivery option offered by ConstructPC, risk may pass to you when the goods are handed to that carrier, where permitted by law.
28. COURIER DAMAGE AND TRANSIT CLAIMS
If goods arrive damaged, please contact support@constructpc.co.uk as soon as possible.
Please keep all packaging, boxes, labels, internal packaging and damaged items until we confirm they are no longer needed. Photographs of the packaging and damage may be required for courier or insurance claims.
A request to notify us within 48 hours helps us deal with courier claims quickly. It does not remove statutory rights that cannot be excluded by law.
29. FAULTY GOODS AND STATUTORY REMEDIES
If goods are faulty, not as described or not fit for purpose, we will handle the issue in line with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Within 30 days of delivery, consumers may have a short-term right to reject faulty goods and receive a refund.
Between 30 days and 6 months, consumers are normally entitled to a repair or replacement in the first instance. If repair or replacement is unsuccessful, unavailable, not provided within a reasonable time or causes significant inconvenience, you may be entitled to a price reduction or final right to reject.
After 6 months, you may need to show that the fault was present or developing at the time of delivery.
We may need to inspect, test or diagnose reported faults before confirming the appropriate remedy.
30. SERVICES AND 90-DAY WORKMANSHIP GUARANTEE
All services will be carried out with reasonable care and skill.
Upgrade, repair and maintenance work includes a 90-day workmanship guarantee for the specific work completed. If the same issue returns because of the original workmanship, ConstructPC will inspect and, where appropriate, rectify the workmanship issue without an additional labour charge.
This guarantee applies only to the specific work carried out. It does not cover unrelated faults, new failures, customer-supplied defective parts, software changes made after collection, malware, user damage, accidental damage, liquid damage, power surge damage, unauthorised modifications or work carried out by third parties.
This guarantee does not replace your statutory rights or any applicable manufacturer warranty.
31. 3-YEAR CONSTRUCTPC BUILD SUPPORT
Every new ConstructPC custom desktop includes 3-Year ConstructPC Build Support from the date of handover or delivery.
For the first 12 months, this includes a workmanship guarantee for issues caused by the original assembly or installation work.
Throughout the three-year support period, ConstructPC can also help diagnose issues with the supplied build and support applicable manufacturer warranty claims for components supplied as part of your system.
Individual component warranties are provided by the relevant manufacturers and vary by brand and product. Manufacturer approvals, replacements, repairs and timescales are controlled by the manufacturer or supplier.
3-Year ConstructPC Build Support does not replace your statutory rights or any applicable manufacturer warranty.
32. PERFORMANCE AND BENCHMARKS
Performance, frame rates, temperatures, noise levels and benchmark results may vary depending on drivers, firmware, software updates, game patches, ambient temperature, airflow, display resolution, settings and user configuration.
We do not guarantee specific frame rates, benchmark scores, temperatures or noise levels unless expressly agreed in writing.
33. SOFTWARE, LICENCES AND OPERATING SYSTEMS
Software work is carried out with reasonable care and skill.
You are responsible for valid software licences unless a licence is supplied by ConstructPC as an agreed invoice item.
We are not responsible for third-party software bugs, account restrictions, platform changes, automated updates, discontinued software or compatibility issues outside our control, except where the law requires otherwise.
34. COMPATIBILITY
We take reasonable care to check compatibility for custom builds, upgrades and repairs.
Compatibility may still depend on manufacturer firmware, BIOS versions, driver support, part tolerances, case dimensions, power requirements, thermal behaviour and information provided by you or suppliers.
35. CUSTOMER-SUPPLIED PARTS
We may agree to install or test Customer-Supplied Parts.
We are not responsible for the authenticity, prior condition, performance, missing accessories, warranty status or hidden faults of Customer-Supplied Parts.
Labour charges may still apply where work has been carried out with reasonable care and skill, even if a Customer-Supplied Part is defective, incompatible, unstable or dead on arrival.
Warranty and support terms may differ where parts are supplied by you rather than by ConstructPC.
36. PHOTOGRAPHY AND QUALITY RECORDS
We may photograph or video devices, components, serial numbers, internal layouts, packaging and damage for quality control, diagnostic records, warranty handling, courier evidence, fraud prevention and dispute resolution.
We will not publish identifiable customer information or images that identify you personally without your consent.
We may ask for separate permission to use non-identifying build or service images for marketing, portfolio, gallery or social media purposes.
37. UNCOLLECTED GOODS
Where you leave goods, systems, components or devices with us, we will hold them with reasonable care.
If goods remain uncollected, or if agreed charges remain unpaid, we may contact you using the details you provided and ask you to collect the goods or settle outstanding sums.
If goods remain uncollected after reasonable notice, we may charge reasonable storage costs and may take steps permitted by law in relation to uncollected goods, including giving notice under the Torts (Interference with Goods) Act 1977 where applicable.
We will not sell, dispose of or otherwise deal with uncollected goods without taking reasonable steps to contact you first.
38. COMPLAINTS
If something has not gone as expected, please contact support@constructpc.co.uk or use the complaints form linked from our Contact page or website footer.
Using the complaints form helps us collect the information needed to investigate quickly, but it is not the only way to raise a complaint.
Complaints will be handled in line with our Complaints Policy.
39. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any remedy you are entitled to under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable consumer protection law, including remedies for goods that are not of satisfactory quality, not fit for purpose, not as described, or services not performed with reasonable care and skill.
Subject to the above, our total liability under or in connection with a contract is limited to the price paid for the specific goods or services in dispute.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profit, loss of business, loss of revenue, loss of opportunity, or third-party claims, except where the law does not allow such liability to be limited or excluded.
40. EVENTS OUTSIDE OUR CONTROL
We are not responsible for delays or failure to perform caused by events outside our reasonable control, including supplier shortages, courier disruption, severe weather, power or internet outages, payment provider disruption, illness, accidents, platform outages or unexpected market conditions.
Where an event outside our control affects your order, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible.
41. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Website content, branding, logos, text, layouts, images, marketing materials and other intellectual property are owned by or licensed to ConstructPC Ltd unless stated otherwise.
You must not copy, reproduce, scrape, republish or reuse our materials without written permission.
42. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms from time to time.
The version in force at the time you place an order, approve a quote or book a service will normally apply to that contract, unless a change is required by law or agreed between us.
43. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer, you may also have mandatory rights in the part of the UK where you live.
Disputes will be subject to the courts of England and Wales, except where consumer protection law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
